For most investment firms, fund documents are more than just outputs, they’re how information is communicated, understood, and trusted by investors.
Behind every factsheet, KID, or disclosure document is a combination of regulatory knowledge, calculations, data, and design. Getting it right requires both precision and practical experience.
For Seamus O’Cuill, that combination is exactly what defines his role.
As Head of Investor & Digital Solutions at Funds‑Axis, Seamus leads the firm’s Fund Document Solutions capability, helping clients streamline the production of regulatory and investor communications across their product range.
From Accounting and Compliance to Document Solutions
Seamus is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland (FCA) and brings a broad background across the funds industry.
His career has spanned roles including auditor, Head of Fund Accounting and Compliance, Head of Financial Reporting, and Finance Director, giving him a deep understanding of how data, reporting, and regulation interact across the investment lifecycle.
Over the past 14 years, Seamus has focused specifically on document production, building and operating solutions to support:
- UCITS KIIDs
- PRIIPs KIDs
- Factsheets
- MiFID costs and charges reporting
That experience now underpins how he leads Investor & Digital Solutions at Funds‑Axis.
What Seamus Does at Funds‑Axis
Seamus leads the Fund Document Solutions capability within Galaxy.
His team is responsible for designing, managing and producing fund documents, both PDF and digital, allowing asset managers and management companies to focus on their core activities.
This includes not only document production, but also the underlying calculations and data processing that sit behind them. By bringing those elements together, the team helps clients reduce operational burden and improve consistency across their reporting outputs.
Solving a Core Client Challenge
One of the biggest challenges Seamus’s team helps clients solve is the complexity of producing accurate, consistent and regulator‑ready documents at scale.
Document production often sits across multiple data sources, calculation processes, and regulatory requirements. By centralising both the data and calculation logic within Galaxy, Funds‑Axis helps clients move away from fragmented, manual processes and towards a more streamlined model.
The result is greater efficiency, reduced duplication, and more reliable outputs.
Bringing Clarity Through Experience
Seamus sees regulatory clarity as something that comes from both knowledge and execution.
His team’s strength lies in combining deep regulatory understanding with practical delivery, producing documentation that clients rely on and trust. Over time, this has helped build a reputation for high‑quality document production across different regulatory regimes and client requirements.
How Galaxy Fits In
For Seamus, the value of Galaxy lies in how data can be reused across multiple services.
Because Galaxy is a multi‑modular platform, the same static and dynamic data points can feed into:
This allows clients to consolidate vendors, streamline processes, and reduce costs, while maintaining control over their reporting outputs.
Flexibility as a Key Differentiator
One of the capabilities Seamus highlights most is flexibility.
With tools such as the PDF document editor and digital document playbook, his team can customise outputs across a client’s full product range, or tailor documentation to specific subsets where needed.
That flexibility is increasingly important as firms look to adapt documents for different audiences, formats, and regulatory expectations.
Life at Funds‑Axis
Seamus values the strong sense of teamwork across the business, particularly during onboarding projects, where multiple teams come together with a shared goal.
Those moments, where everyone is aligned on delivery and working towards a clear outcome, are a highlight of the role. He also takes pride in seeing colleagues develop and grow over time, something he sees as one of the most rewarding aspects of leadership.
Looking Ahead
Seamus sees two major areas shaping the future of document solutions.
The first is AI, which has the potential to support smarter document production and data handling, provided strong controls are in place to maintain accuracy and avoid errors.
The second is the continued shift towards a digital‑first world, where firms move beyond static PDFs towards more dynamic, interactive forms of communication with investors.
He is also closely watching the upcoming EU PRIIPs KID review, particularly the potential move towards more digital engagement across the industry.
Beyond the Role
Away from work, Seamus is heavily involved in Gaelic football and athletics, volunteering his time to help young people develop both as sportspeople and as individuals.
He has also had the unique experience of being an All‑Ireland sack race champion in his younger years.
Family is a central part of life, with Seamus and his partner having followed their children as they represented county and country in sport, sharing both the highs and the inevitable challenges along the way.
One Piece of Advice
The best advice Seamus has received is simple:
Always do your best. Be resilient. Stay the course.
It’s a principle reinforced by the idea that success comes from being able to look back and know you’ve given your best, and using the tougher days as an opportunity to learn and improve.
