We were at Trinity College Dublin this week for Adminovate 2020. Now in its third year, Adminovate 2020 brings together leading members of the fund management industry to encourage innovation and engage in conversations on issues affecting the industry.
We were delighted to have been a sponsor this year, with our Head of Relationships Rosie McKerr and Fund Regulation Manager Pieter Lishman representing us on the day. The event was very well attended and it was great to catch up with existing clients and contacts as well as speaking with new contacts and prospective clients.
There were lots of interesting discussions across the day. Some key takeaways we took from the event included:
- Firms need to have an operating model and a strategy around data
- Data quality is a huge challenge across the industry, as is validation and oversight of outsourcing
- Tech firms need to really understand the regulatory environment their clients are operating in and the fund structures being used
- When running change projects, the people feeling the pain must be involved in the process and decision making
Not only is Adminovate 2020 an event which helps you to connect with key people in the industry, but you also get the opportunity to support a worthwhile cause. Adminovate 2020 raised 20,000 Euros for basis.point an organisation dedicated to providing educational opportunities for children in under resourced communities.
This was a great result so congratulations to Adminovate for all their efforts and for delivering a great event. We look forward to hopefully being involved again next year!
